Others are needed here in the Cotahuasi Canyon in Peru
The Quechua people of the Cotahuasi Canyon are located high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Living in small villages within some of the most rugged terrain on earth, they are largely unreached with the Gospel. Up to now, there are only several hundred followers of Christ within this people group.
In 2001, the Shaws were invited to work with a few Peruvian believers, to reach out to over 40 communities of the canyon. Now there are new little churches that need help to grow. The Quechua believers are seeing God save others and change lives for His glory as they reach out to more isolated villages. There are many other people that need to hear the Gospel and to know Jesus as their Lord. Over the last few years, God has brought others from South Africa, Germany, and the U.S. to serve with us. But the "harvest is plenty and the workers are few". Pray with us as we ask the Lord to call and send others to serve in various kinds of ministries here. Are you called to "go" to Cotahuasi?
The "strategy" is simple.
The Lord has called a small team of Quechua and international workers dedicated to the purity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and faithfully proclaiming it to this corner of the world. We are concerned about knowing the Only True God of the Scriptures, faithfully proclaiming Him, and establishing a firm Biblical foundation of Christianity in the new village churches. To this goal, we are committed to teaching doctrine consistent with the historic Christian reformation, based upon the trustworthiness, authority, and sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures. Since the scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and sufficient, we "hold the Scriptures high" and seek to model how confidence in God's Word and obedience to His will brings glory to Christ and eternal blessings to each believer. Trusting in His Word, we hold our methodology of ministry and order of life under the illuminating light of Scripture and submit ourselves to God's revealed will, rather than look for innovative and extra-biblical methods for God to bless. As we trust and obey, God continues to bless, and we ask Him to allow us to be faithful examples for His glory.
If these are your goals as well, please pray about serving with use for a few months, a year or two, or give yourself completely to serving Him in Peru, as the Lord sovereignly leads you in His plan.
Church Planting
Work with local believers, traveling to small mountain villages. Come prepared with Biblical theology consistent with the local churches, teach Biblical doctrine, help plant new churches, develop relationships, evangelize, disciple, and train local Gospel workers.
This is truly a pioneering role. It will lead to a huge impact for many people and their communities. If faithfully done according to scripture, it may impact generations of future churches. Come with Spanish or complete your study in Peru.
Administrative Assistant
Help with organization, communication, and coordinate various ministry tasks so that outreach, resources, and other ministries will work more smoothly and productively for the glory of God.
This is an important role that can have a great impact on the organization if there is a commitment to the inerrant word of God.

Children's Ministry
Christian parents are struggling to train their children in "the way they should go". Your loving attention to these children can help prepare the next generation of believers in new village churches.
Encouraging parents in family devotional habits, discipline, and vision for Christ-centered home is very much needed here.
Public schools and village leaders are welcoming and ask us to come and teach from the Bible. The "doors" are wide open - for now. Help us walk through the doors and share the truth, while the opportunities are here.
Youth Worker
Develop youth ministries in the mountain villages.
Build relationships through visiting, counseling, and discipling.
Youth need Bible knowledge, strong Godly role models, and examples of uncompromising faith and love for Jesus.
Teaching English
Teach English as a second language to children, youth and adults. Professionals and youth need English to excel and they are asking us to teach them. They are open to our teaching methods using the Bible for our text book.
Build relationships and personally share your faith.
Serve with a team of church planters and reach out for Christ to a lost generation.
Educational Assistance
Public education is seriously lacking in quality.
Reach out to children and youth through helping with their academic studies after school.
Develop relationships, personally share your faith, and tutor them in their school work.
Radio Ministry
Assist in program development of a Christian radio station, reaching into 45 isolated villages to "feed Jesus' sheep."
Help with the maintenance of transmitter equipment, electronic controls, and generators.
Train and support Peruvian Christians with this task.

Short-Term Mission Trips
Pray about serving for a week or two with the international team here in the Cotahuasi Canyon.
We will be having various small construction projects, ongoing children and youth ministry, teaching English, and other opportunities to use special skills to serve the ministry.
